Other new features are HDR10 and TrueTheatre. When you first open PowerDVD 17 you are met with a screen giving you a choice of PC or TV mode. Luckily I had a version of CyberLink software that could play them and now they support Ultra HD Blu-ray. I once was sent a top of the range notebook to review that had a Blu-ray drive but no software capable of playing these enhanced DVD’s. I installed from the optical media supplied and it took 8 minutes and used 560MB of hard disc space on a Windows 10 system, this was somewhat larger at 770MB on Windows 7.īlu-ray is something that has fallen out – now back in again – from various packages as the licence for it is expensive.

Anyway, I had the Intel adapter disabled on BIOS (all my screens are connected to the Nvidia), but I just uninstalled for being sure.Īfter this two steps, PowerDVD reinstall and rebooting, both PowerDVD 16 and PhotoDirector 7 runs perfect, and allow registering.ĭon't forget anyway to disable all antivirus/antimalware before install or execution, just for registering purpose (later they must run with both enabled)They modestly call themselves the ‘World’s Number One Movie and Media Player’ and certainly their ability to get media from wherever makes this likely. I did this because I read on other post that it have problems with Intel/Nvidia adapters on same PC (remember that most intel modern processors integrate intel graphics). PowerDVD relies on Python for some functions (I think for registering CDKEY too), so I wonder it needs his own integrated right version of python interpreter alone.Īfter uninstalling Python I rebooted and my PhotoDirector 7 started to work (was having the same issue of not starting), then I reinstalled PowerDVD, and voilá. This is the one I really think is the key. First I uninstalled ALL Python interpreter versions I had.I did two things at a time, so I can't be certain which one was the necessary, if you have both, please test by one, and reboot on each, so we can isolate the culprit. I solved the problem in my Windows 10 PC. Just in case, but I still think the problem is the damn activation.exe. Spanish on everything (I tried english install). No when I just paid the program and can't use it. But I don't want to risk my PC to virus or rasomware. I know you cant tell us what registry or file we have to delete, as can be used to reset trial period, but we are legit users and have no access to something that a simple crack from a hack website will do easily.

Or steps to manual activate it.Īnd please bring us a solution, I bought the program just to play some movies to my little girls this holidays, and I cant. Please support guys, check yourself, follow the steps (install 15 trial, let it end trial, and then install commercial version of v16), and you will find the issue.īring us an activation.exe that we can overwrite and use to register the program. and same v15 trial advice on activation.exe. I used revo to uninstall everything, v15 and v16, i searched the full registry and files, i deleted everything. That activation.exe checks for trial expired, but didn't have a option to register neither v15 or v16. Then I found that the file activation.exe on the main folder of PowerDVD16 brings me back the previos advice, that my PowerDVD15 trial has ended. I tried administrator mode/compatibility.etc. You double click the PowerDVD16 icon and nothing. When I put a BD on the drive the Activation tell me that the trial has ended and have 0 days left, and showed a link to the store to buy the new year promo, thing that I did.Īfter downloading PowerDVD16 and install, nothing happens.

I had PowerDVD15 trial for 30 days two years ago, and still installed on the PC. I think the problem it's the registry or file tag for PowerDVD15 trial. Trying to resolve by myself but no progress.
